A very picturesque stretch of river. This is our uppermost venue on the Avon, just north of Fordingbridge, where the river sits beneath an area of mature woodland which has a holiday park set amongst it. The main species present are chub, barbel, roach, dace and pike.
A prime winter fishery, the water is very lightly fished amongst the cooler months when the holiday makers aren’t present. Although quite a long walk from the entry points the rewards are well worth the perseverance.
Travelling light and adopting a roving approach allows you to explore the stretch and should help you locate the fish.
