About the venue

Both Avon Tyrrell and Dudmoor fisheries extend to several miles of bank along the winding course of the Hampshire Avon. Access on foot to both is beside the Avon Causeway bridge generally along the right (SW) bank, giving some limited scope to find shelter from the prevailing wind. Long stretches of these fisheries are lightly fished because of the long walks. The good stocks of barbel, dace and chub rarely see a bait for much of the year.
