About the venue

This is a beautiful stretch of river which has good access and is only a short walk from the car park. During the Summer months, swims look a real picture and abundant wildlife can be seen. Chub and barbel get caught from most swims, but they do move around so they may take some finding. Big river carp are also present in this stretch. During the Winter months, the bank opposite the White House starts to fish well with large catches of specimen dace and roach. Over the last few seasons, a large number of small barbel up to 1lb 8oz have also appeared.

Salmon also lie up in this stretch and they can often be seen above the top weir leaping clear of the water. Sea trout are also found here.

Day tickets are available on this stretch priced at only £6 for adults and £3 for juniors/concessionary.
