You will see in your renewal package that the committee have been forced to increase the membership prices for 2020. We have tried to keep this to the minimum amount possible. To explain the need for the increase;
Firstly, we are seeing a general rise in lease and rent agreements and for us to keep these waters we need to generate extra revenue to pay these increases.
Secondly, I hope you have noticed over the past year just how much general maintenance has been carried out on club waters by the fisheries, rivers and trout teams. All this work costs money for equipment, materials etc. The fisheries team have also been working on major projects this year and there are some in the planning stage for 2020. Again these cost money and with the agreement of our treasurer the extra revenue from increased fees will be ring fenced for fisheries development.At the last AGM it was suggested we add a Fisheries Management charge to our membership fees dependent upon attending a work party. Whilst a valid idea, on further discussion it became clear it would be very difficult to accurately control. Going forward the simple and reliable way to increase revenue is to ring fence a general increase of fees.
I hope you can see the reasons for the increase and please understand that the extra monies raised are going into developing your waters making them an enjoyable venue to fish with up to date facilities.
