Earlier this month we welcomed Fishability to Hucklesbrook Lake for a weekend fish-in.
Fishability is a charity that helps military veterans to use fishing as a way of overcoming physical injury and mental health issues, such as PTSD. They provide social events for those who may struggle to fish unaccompanied and coaches/support for all their members.
The weather was warm and blustery and the 15 anglers who fished had a great time fishing for tench, carp and silver fish across the whole spectrum of coarse techniques.
Friends of the club provided some great goodies for each angler. CC Moore, Korda and Bait Tech all ensured each participant was well stocked with boilies, pellets, rigs and clothing/caps.
Speaking to some of the chaps was a humbling experience, having given so much in the service of their country it is great to know that charities such as Fishability are trying to assist them with such simple pleasures we all take for granted.
