Club member Mark has reported the biggest chub of the season to us so far after landing a stunning specimen.
The fish, which weighed in at 8lb 1oz, was taken from one of our stretches of the Avon.
Mark stated, “I couldn’t believe it when I hooked it. I was after a barbel I could see and at first thought I had it! I guess chub are just that bit greedier. I would love to catch this fish again at the beginning of March. I only have a photo of the fish on the unhooking mat as nobody was around to take a photo of me holding it. To give some perspective of size the reel is a Shimano 10000 XTE Super Baitrunner Aero which is 8″ long.”
Many thanks for sharing the photo and details. We are always delighted to receive catch reports and will add as much or as little information as requested by the captor.
