As the weather changes from the dry, hot summer into the cooler, damper conditions of Autumn so too the fish have really begun to get their heads down. On the river, Dave dusted off the trotting gear to target the chub and was rewarded with a superb session of 5 fish, 3 of which were over 6lb with the biggest weighing a superb 6lb 13oz.
Meanwhile, on Hucklesbrook, Tim landed this superb 30lb 14oz common. He caught the same fish back in August 2016 at 26lb 15oz – meaning it has put on almost 4lb in the intervening 2 years. With so many fish currently in the ‘twenties’ this is a great indicator of how the water is developing and the good times ahead.
Patrick fished the venue for the first time this week and had three carp, the biggest weighing in at 18lbs. Again, another lovely common.
Please keep sending your catch reports in – it will allow us to do more regular round-ups of how our waters are fishing.
