Nea Meadows lake received a boost of about 20 good conditioned carp yesterday.
The fish were from nearby Lakewood Pond, which is on the same feeder stream. Lakewood Pond is undergoing a major restoration project, which will include deepening it prior to being used as a teaching venue for children wanting to get into the sport. In due course it will receive entirely new stock, including crucian carp, so the king carp will remain permanent residents of our water.
All work has been approved by the EA and council, future releases may also occur as some fish avoided the net throughout the clearance process!
Great news for our members who like to fish this venue.
