Our River Management team could really do with some help during the work they carry out on our fisheries.
This week saw them tackling Lower Winkton a very underfished venue with bags of potential. Great work has been done here over the past 12 months to improve parking and access. The latest improvement saw a new stile being built from the raised causeway, enabling the boggy ditch across the footpath to the river to be bypassed. Superb stuff!
They go out most Wednesdays, generally working 10:00 – 15:00 but welcome any contributions.
All tools will be provided and no experience is required. The sessions are great social events where the chance to explore venues and exchange tips and stories is just as high on the agenda as the work being done. It’s no surprise that those who regularly attend are generally the ones catching some great fish! The difference the team makes, however, is absolutely massive.
We have several fishery projects planned for this Autumn / Winter and hope to make improvements to access, swims and the quality of fishing. We’d love a few more helpers, as we are not sure we can get everything done. If you think you can help, please get in touch, or look out for regular posts on the forum. Thanks.
