We are pleased to announce that the bank reconstruction work at Wedgehill is complete. However, the top and middle ponds, the top car park and track will remain closed until further notice to allow the mud and bank to settle and for the middle pond to re-fill. Other essential maintenance is also being carried out by our fisheries team whilst they have easy access. Please do NOT go for a wander to have a look since in places the mud is about a foot deep.
The banks on the top and middle ponds were very undercut and, if left unrepaired for many more years, may have collapsed. As such, we have invested in proper, major repairs to ensure the future prosperity of these lovely waters which are owned by the club. The photos show the extent of the work conducted and, once the aesthetic work is completed, the venue will look wonderful whilst having superb, safe access for decades to come.
The committee would like to thank you for your cooperation and understanding and we will keep you up to date with when the fishing can start again. Please remember that the bottom pond is open at all times for those that need there Wedgehill fix!
