Breach Pond

Fishing

Coarse: Open all year subject to Rule 14
About the venue
Situated at the foot of the Purbeck hills (see map), this six acre water with surrounding mature woodland was purchased by the Club in 2005. We have developed a trackway and car park to the west of the pond. All fishing platforms on the car park side have been replaced, but please take care when using the remaining old platforms, which will also be replaced in the near future. We sub-let the fishery to the former leaseholders, Wareham & District A.C. and members fish to the same fishery regulations.
The pond offers good fishing for many species including bream, rudd, roach, tench, perch, pike, large crucians and a few carp. Most of the carp are the lean, slow-growing but very fit ‘wild’ strain that run to 10lb, with a few larger fast-growing mirrors and commons also present. In most swims depths range from 3-4m with a few shallow areas, mainly at the north end of the pond which have extensive weedbeds including colourful lilies. This pond offers classic tench fishing in peaceful surroundings (if, like the fish, you ignore the army firing range in the distance)! Look out for deer, buzzards and ravens that can be commonly seen here.
A Club key is required to gain access to the fishery.
Postcode Location: BH20 5DG.
