About the venue
Just south of Verwood alongside the River Crane, we lease three adjoining lakes and some rearing ponds. You need a Club key to access the car park. The third lake (Wood Lake) is reached by walking past the main lakes and crossing the unmade road. It is about 200m from the main complex car park. Alternatively, as access has now been improved to Wood Lake, you can drive down St. Michaels Road and along the unmade track until you reach the new Club gate on your right (Club key required) and then drive along the track and park next to Wood Lake in the purpose-made car park. All lakes contain roach, rudd, tench, perch, crucians and a few carp. Wood Lake was stocked in 2010 with some quality bream to add to the species on offer. Many areas are quite shallow and fish can be taken close to the weedbeds and margin cover.
Fishing is available on the River Crane (see map for access points). It is a very small stream best fished by travelling light and moving quietly between pools. There are a range of coarse fish plus occasional trout.
The Club is currently formulating a plan in conjuction with the owners to improve the fishery…….more news in due course.
Postcode Location: BH31 6JA (St Michaels Road).
