Ibsley Pools & Trout Stream
About the venue
This is a part of the Somerley Estate fishings and, although only a small section, provides some excellent fishing for the coarse and game angler. For the trout fisherman, the stream provides sport in the shape of stocked brown trout. The stream is a beautiful place to fish and although the fishing can sometimes be challenging, catches of up to half a dozen fish are not uncommon.
The three ponds can provide some spectacular sport for the coarse angler with specimen carp, tench and perch among the species on offer. Crowe and Tomkins, although relatively small, hold a few surprises for the carp angler in particular………definitely worth some serious attention.
After the trout season has finished on 15 October, coarse anglers have access to the stream, which can provide excellent sport to long trotting tactics for dace, roach and chub.
