Stour Moors River
Fishing
Coarse: 16 June to 14 March×
About the venue
In contrast to most of the Club’s river fishing, this is a small, often overlooked river. It is a small and intimate fishery, but the fishing can be difficult, particularly in Summer where dense bankside vegetation and weed growth can make the fishing a challenge. The river becomes more fishable in the late Autumn and Winter after the weed growth dies back. Roach, dace, chub and plenty of jack pike are present.
As well as coarse species, sea trout are also known to run the river and wild brown trout are also present.
There is a restoration plan to be implemented by the Environment Agency for the river, which will hopefully improve the access and fishing opportunities.
